Pressing Issues

The work below is the work of Mr. Gilmour’s two Art Exploration classes. Art Exploration is a first semester visual arts class. Students come to the class with wide ranging experiences with the visual art. For some this is the most focused art class they may have ever taken. For other it has just been one of many. To make things even more interesting this year as we have been in distance learning all semester, except in rare cases, I have never met these students in person.

Pressing Issues was students final assignment of the semester. They where asked to pick an issue in our world, be it big or personal to depict in an artwork. Below you will see these students efforts to grapple with the challenging subjects of are society and world through art.
